For ONE DAY ONLY, please join us at our Bread Box studio on Sunday, May 19th, from 12-6pm as we display stacks and stacks of countless past posters and prints for an incredible sale! Selected older editions, scratch & dent, and selected posters previously used for display will be only $5 each!
We’re making it a celebration! We’ll have music, snacks and beverages. Come hang out. Talk shop. Search through tons of posters - perhaps you’ll find something you never even knew existed.

Did you know that Harry Dean Stanton is from Kentucky? Did you know that Lexington, KY holds an annual Harry Dean Stanton Movie Fest? A small collection of his extensive career is featured every year and in coordination with the 2013 Fest a Harry Dean Stanton Gallery Show was organized. We contributed 4 pieces - HDS from our most favorite HDS movies, each stylized to fit the feel and title of the movie: Alien, Escape from New York, Red Dawn, and Pretty in Pink!

Process
Saw the movie Mud and it’s the best film I’ve seen this year, so far. I loved the characters and felt the story lent itself to the type of aesthetic I like to explore in my art prints…thus it inspired a new piece…and I thought I’d show a wee bit of process on how I illustrate for a poster.
The first pic is a piece of the art print I drew separately using a blue led pencil and inked with a pentel pocket brush pen. I love how dynamic and loose the brush pen can allow line-work. I then drew what would be the rest of the art print. I drew them separately because I wanted freedom on how to relate the two illustrations in photoshop. Did I want the boat in the tree more hidden in the background? Partially obscured? Or more upfront? I didn’t know yet.
After I ink my illustrations… I scan them into photoshop where I play with layout and color count. This art print is currently a 5 color screenrpint that I can show broken down into color order as soon as I’m officially finished.
