Here are a few pieces illustrated for our friend Mark Rudolph’s anthology Satan is Alive: A Tribute to Mercyful Fate. The theme? Think young King Diamond as a clever Encyclopedia Brown with not-so-clever suburban parents and a pet goat. His story to be included.
Check out the other participating artists. It’s shaping up to be an incredible collection…like this amazing piece by artist Kevin Cross.

Two recent art prints I’ve designed but haven’t printed yet.
Wolves & Foxes
Both would be 16” x 20”, 4-color screenprints. I’m still in the debating/tweaking phase.

200 Portraits
- The Monkees -
#133 - Davy Jones#134 - Micky Dolenz#135 - Mike Nesmith#136 - Peter Tork
I haven’t done a portrait for this series since last October but recent events have inspired me to post a few more. The very first album I ever bought was the Best of the Monkees…inspired by my mom’s collection of records and watching their show on Saturday mornings (which they still played in the 80s). I played that cassette on my walkman until it literally fell apart. I adored them…their “crazy antics” and especially the way they opened my eyes to all 60s music which followed me through highschool. While my friends listened to grunge…I was listening the Animals, the Beach Boys, Herman’s Hermits, the Kinks, and the Beatles. I had largely forgotten about them and their impact on my young life until the last few months and a local TV channel started playing episodes of their show on the weekends. And I’ll admit…I still enjoy watching them! It seems a little too coincidental though that I had actually started these portraits the night before the announcement of Davy Jones passing. It’s true. I wasn’t going to post them…I was just enjoying rediscovering them. But now I feel I should…because Davy, Mike, Micky and Peter did mean something significant to me.
